Fish Joke: It was a cold winter day, when
an old man walked out onto a frozen lake, cut a hole in the ice, dropped
in his fishing line and began waiting for a fish to bite.
He was there for almost an hour without even a nibble when a young boy walked out onto the ice, cut a hole in the ice not too far from the old man and dropped in his fishing line. It only took about a minute and WHAM! A Largemouth Bass hit his hook and the boy pulled in the fish.
The old man couldn't believe it but figured it was just luck. But, the boy dropped in his line and again within just a few minutes pulled in another one.
This went on and on until finally the old man couldn't take it any more since he hadn't caught a thing all this time.
He went to the boy and said, "Son, I've been here for over an hour without even a nibble. You have been here only a few minutes and have caught about half a dozen fish! How do you do it?"
The boy responded, "Roo raf roo reep ra rums rrarm." "What was that?" the old man asked. Again the boy responded, "Roo raf roo reep ra rums rarrm." "Look," said the old man, "I can't understand a word you are saying." So, the boy spit into his hand and said, "You have to keep the worms warm!"

Well this time of year starts the count down to 2 big days. December 25 and January 1. While counting down to these 2 days I realized there are alot of count downs on the go. Here is a quick list for your enjoyment.

If I missed any count downs dont be shy to let me know. My memory these days is not that sharp. There is actually a phrase for it - Chemo Brain - treatments effect the memory and other functions.
Speaking of treatment here is a an update: Heard from the surgeon and he is suggesting my power port be removed as it maybe causing blood clots. There is another clot at the tip of the catheter causing a blockage and some of the problems. Removing the implant requires a minor surgery, in which they will use a local freezing to make the 3-4 inch incision and take the device out. Surgeon says a very routine 5 minute procedure. Yeah easy for him to say when he is not the one NOT knocked out and listening to the clanging of instrument table. Other then the potential for a scary movie scene - I am all good with having this done. For future treatments a second non invasive procedure will happen for a PICC line connection to be installed. This was one of the options originally, which we decided not to do as it requires more maintenance and also is a nuisance, there are IV lines dangling from the arm. Which simply means I have to be careful not have these lines catch on anything.
Thursday we will know more about the path to getting better. Until then it is the waiting game.
